These kind of projects often take years to sort out the ramifications. Taking only a few months is not sufficient to fully appreciate the complexity. Why does a private enterprise get closed door treatment with a publicly accountable agency? This seems very sketchy.

Reaffirm a resounding NO! Look at the other Iowa towns that have been devastated by slaughterhouses'. Prestige only cares about profits, not its employees and their safety, the communities surrounding the slaughterhouse or the environmental impacts.

The public already made there voices heard. The votes have already been cast. They didn't want this in North Carolina how dare you bring it to Iowa and think you can walk all over our citizens.

Please, don't overwhelm our schools & social services, put an end to the division in our community, show the respect for the surrounding communities & don't overwhelm them. This is a shaky business venture..100% financed. Don't change your vote..Don't let your legacy be this mess. 2 years after opening, the folks that think they're in favor now, will be screaming the loudest against it.

The perpetuation of the creation of poor health for animals and workers in the pork industry is not something I want associated with a community so close to home. We have the opportunity to be leaders for change - let's take it!

Please stand still with the most vote. This may bring more jobs, but will also bring more violence, drugs etc. I want me kids to grow up in a small safe town. We have our issues already but know if this passes they will only get worse.

The decision was made-move on by harnessing the passion and energy of all to go after businesses that meet The Triple Bottom Line: 1) it provides high quality jobs AND 2) it has a beneficial or neutral environmental effect AND
3) it offers a better Quality of Life
For city and region.
Prestage failed the Triple Bottom Line Balance Sheet test.
Let's be proactive and let IDED know we want businesses that can meet this test.
