Those are not good paying jobs. I do not want any taxpayers money going to Prestige.

I do not support the Prestage facility for many reasons: too much city money is given to this company; environmental destruction; CAFOs popping up everywhere (outside the 2.5 mi ); huge strain on the education system, law enforcement system, welfare system, fire/EMS system, Mercy Medical Center; increased crime rate due to turnover rate and low wages. the general public was mislead on the wages for this facility. Prestage stated they will not put out a 'dime' to build this facility, so why does the taxpayer have to put out so much to bring approx 1500 lower paying jobs to this area? $58 million dollar bill to bring this company here ? Where's the logic ? Let's bring in good paying, non- environmental destructive jobs. M.C. needs a new mayor, too

The presence of Prestage will begin a long decline in the future of Mason City's growth. Adding 2000 low income jobs to a community ill prepared to spend much needed tax revenue on supporting that low income population will be debilitating for the city. Prestage externalizes the most problematic costs of production to the city and public while they take profits from the business to another state and country. This is a lose/lose situation for the city. Gaining a reputation as a rough packing town with a large migrant population that strains city budgets and creates affordable housing in a zone around the plant does not bode well for the future. Reject this plant and take back control of the direction of development that will truly benefit all residents.

Honor your "No" vote--it was the right vote and does not need a "redo" until those that stand to benefit financially get their way. The citizens of Mason City have been insulted by Ron Prestage and also city councilwoman Janet Solberg--our city deserves better. The negative environmental and negative financial impact in the form of "give-aways" to an out of state corporation that this would have upon the community is immense. The people have spoken and expressed their valid concerns and desire not to have this plant locate here--the "No" vote must stand.

20 year resident of Mason City. This does not appear to be a good fit for our community for many reasons. Once there have been hearings and a vote, the issue should be closed. Next we must insure that they cannot build multiple Confinements within 50 miles of town. Air, Waste, Water, pollution concerns. No Tax Money to For Profit corporations of this nature.

It's not the plant, if you live in Floyd County. It's the threat of more CAFOs ruining your quality of life and your property value. Unless and until the state regulates, or lets the counties regulate, so that a lifetime investment in real property isn't rendered worthless by a CAFO next to your property line, don't incentivize more of them.
