Say "No" to Lamar Twp Fire Company's Predator Hunt

I used to look up to firefighters. I have zero respect for Lamar Township Volunteer Fire Department. This organization are a bunch of COWARDS. You are NOT heroes. You are losers!

Not only is this shameful and unethical - but each of these animals is a keystone species and helps keep ecosystems intact and boosts biodiversity. They are essential! In addition, this is not hunting at all. It's a bloodbath where sociopaths gather to kill for the thrill and then get prizes for slaughtering foxes, coyotes, opossums and raccoons. This puts firefighters and their volunteers in a very bad light and is a terrible example for our youth. Only the most deranged individuals would find such an abhorrent wildlife-killing contest acceptable. Ban this hunt! This is even something many hunters find unacceptable. There are ethical hunters that hunt for food and these sort of contests also puts them in a bad light.

I have worked in law enforcement for the past 30 years. I have handled countless cases of animal neglect and abuse in Pittsburgh. I am shocked, disappointed, and horrified that Lamar Township Volunteer Fire Company would sponsor a fundraiser by allowing people to kill animals. What is wrong with you? Truly, shame on all of you!

This is so lame. What kind of person participates in something like this?

This proposed "predator" hunt is absolutely despicable. The sponsor and interested participants are seeking to further a disgusting practice, under the guise of "predator" control, all in the name of raising revenue/prize money. There are limitless options to raise funding in an ethical manner without needlessly sacrificing the lives of area wildlife.

Disgusting, inhumane, and you are supposed to safe life and property.

Animals SHARE this planet with us. They want to live just as much as humans. Humans are not entitled to do as they wish to other beings. Put yourself in the perspective of the animal-the victim in this case.

Killing wildlife en masse is cruel and should not be acceptable. These animals are hunted down and killed in barbaric methods that leave them wounded or die a horrific death. All wildlife is losing their habitat due to commercial, residential and industrial development. They deserve to live not be hunted down as something to be proud of. Don't teach this to your children.

This is a lousy idea. Let the animals live, and figure out a better way to raise the money.
