We do not want this railroad to destroy this neighborhood and our schools and walkways/parks!

Just say no.
If the West Lake extension is such a great idea let the people vote on it. Give full disclosure for all who are for it and what they are going to be receiving in terms of money or other investment opportunities. Because of the train malarkey we have to put up with the RDA thinking they can make a bunch of money for towns with pipe dreams and Promises of gold.

I worked very hard to be able to live anywhere I want in the NWI area. I made the decision at a young age to buy a home and plant roots in south Hammond area. My neighborhood is very quiet with very little traffic on my block. It's a great area to start a family which I planned on doing. This new train idea would completely ruin that. The proposed train idea would take away a great grass lot and replace it with congested cars and noisey trains. I use to live by a train and it caused a lot of damage to the property, made it impossible to sleep, and lowered the overall neighborhood value. This train is obviously an attempt to regentrify the neighborhood. Trains have been placed in areas and very seldom had it resulted in, a community improvement (I.e. Harvey, Riverdale, Ivanhoe, North Hammond.) More money should be put towards rebuilding damaged areas and schooling than an unnecessary new train system.

Absolutely NO TRAIN in our neighborhood. We already have too much congestion, traffic and noise. Money would be better spent in our schools. Top schools are proven to be a draw into a community. Trains are not. Put money in our schools and keep trains OUT.

We don't need trains in Munster, fix our school system first. Not to mention the traffic problems and the decline of property values.

No train, NO TOD! This part of Munster is already a neighborhood full of families and homes. Find land somewhere else, don't tear down houses!

I did not vote for you in the Nov election. Your support of HB1144 is reprehensible with the "possible" conflict of interest with MCR. But, further than support, YOU put your name on the bill? Oppose the bill!

I voted for you in this election because of your platform for education. If I had known that 1. You were in support of the South Shore Extention that will deteriorate the community we love as Munster residents. 2. If I knew you had a personal investment in the South Shore Extention and T.O.D. via your husband's company (which is a breach of ethics), I surely would have cast my vote elsewhere and have supported another candidate more vehemently. Munster residents, especially those directly impacted by the train are not being represented by their town council or town manager. PLEASE be the voice of reason and look at the numbers and published journal articles that show a decrease in property value in homes within 1/3 of a mile of a train rail and the negative health impacts of leaving within 1 mile of a train rail (even a light commuter rail as the one proposed going through Munster). So many lawmakers are pushing a train that residents don't want and at what cost? The destruction of people's homes and the right to live in peace and safety.

I feel this will hurt this small town then help. It will cause a nice quiet safe town to be vulnerable for more harm. In addition people's homes are going to be destroyed. Homes that have personal meaning to those affected.
