The Forest Glen PTA has taken a vote of our members and we officially OPPOSE the 825 N. Main street property being developed as a gas station. The development of a gas station at this location is in direct conflict with the Illinois PTA Legislative platform sections 9a (Environment), 10a (health), and 12a (safety). Forest Glen is less than 500 feet from the proposed gas station. We urge the Village of Glen Ellyn Trustees to reconsider the the previous allowance of a special use permit to True North to develop the property as a 12 pump, 24/7 gas station and convenience store.

This goes against everything GE stands for......not to mention the safety, environmental and neighborhood impact! You come and live behind this gas station, I'm sure your vote would change to NO! Buy my house when I can't sell it!!!!

Do not approve this proposal. This is an historic area and it's incredible to think the trustees might let this proceed.

I moved my family to Glen Ellyn area for the historic downtown feel one gets driving home from work on Main St. Being able to walk downtown area without fear of added vehicle traffic to get to or leave a gas station. Not worrying about breathing fumes from pumps drifting down wind. A 24/7 gas station will have a negitive impact on the community, not have a "family" feel. Reject the permits and cancel the contract.

It's one thing to tear down homes in Glen Ellyn but please leave this slice of history alone. What are you thinking people? It's not all about revenue!!!
