I work at doxford international park closing this will double my journey to work. Closing this also could danger people's life's ambulance and fire services will take longer to reach if needed at Newbottle

Closing the junction is not the answer. Re-design it / widen it, roundabout it , but not close it. Closing will just move the traffic problem further along towards Houghton with drivers being forced to turn left to get to the next roundabout to then have to join the already jammed up queue towards Sunderland.

I think the view has vastly improved since the grass removed. Closing the junctions is just the easiest and cheapest option for the council. There is other options first.

why not lights or a roundabout. closing the junction could be even more dangerous by diverting traffic through other built up areas not to mention the fact that vehicle speed on the a690 could increase as people didn't have to be cautious of traffic crossing.
