Closing the junction is stupid. Only reason a roundabout or lights aren't going there is the cost. The cost to local business due to loss of through traffic could lose some people their livelihoods

This will cause a huge impact on all the people who use this junction and is going to cause massive problems on the two lane roads that will have to cope with all the traffic. Imagine the emergency services trying to get through!
