It's good to move forward sometimes but let's keep some of our towns history and character as many people seem to want to destroy it

Stanton Cross is being built to enhance the town of Wellingborough . I ask the planners to look into the future and leave the bridge as originally planned .

This is typical of larger construction projects where they sell the dream in order to get planning and then further down the line to get costs down they revert to simple cheap designs. I am sure that when the original plans were submitted the first design would have helped in getting the approval for the overall development. I am saying No!

The proposed changes seriously undermine the aspirations of chapter 5 of the SPG that expects a high quality thoughtful design that provides a safe and attractive connection and does not blight views. The bridge will be here in a 100 years, the developers will have long gone leaving the town of Wellingborough to live with the results. This proposal is purely a cost saving exercise and will not enhance the development but will be detrimental to the vision and aspirations of the Council, as set out in the SPG. The bridge sets a benchmark for design of the infrastructure and public realm; it needs to be inspiring not bland.

new proposal is ugly and utilitarian and we have enough of that in the borough. Planning permissions are too routinely changed by big builders and it is not on

Surely people would like to see a bridge on their approach to Wellingborough that is in keeping with the architectural design of the existing bridge to allow them to appreciate the heritage of our town.

Changes to structures like this that have been passed especially due to them being in keeping with the surrounding area should NEVER be allowed to be changed.

Wellingborough already has one eyesore of a bridge between Little Irchester and Wellingborough which the in chamber council of the time promised to restore following the construction of the then new A45.This was never done and as a result the temporary bridge was left in place and is still there. The town definitely does not require a second.

The original design tries to show some style, the new design is just another generic, anonymous overpass. Is that what you want for the gateway to the towns new development Wellingborough Council?

Please don't change it the old design looks more pleasing to the eye the new one looks plain and uninteresting
