THIS PETITION IS FOR THE SUPPORT IN DEMANDING TO FIRE CAL STATE LA CAMPUS OFFICER ADAM KASHE FOR THE TARGETED HARASSMENT OF BLACK STUDENTS. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OCCURRENCE BETWEEN OFFICER ADAM KASHE AND BLACK STUDENTS THAT HAVE LED TO US FEELING UNSAFE AND DIRECTLY TARGETED. ADAM KASHE HAS HARASSED BLACK STUDENTS AND BLACK NON STUDENTS WHO HAVE SIMPLY JUST BEEN SITTING IN THEIR PARKED CARS OR ARE RECEIVING SMALL TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS, YET THE INCIDENTS ALWAYS ENDS UP WITH US PAYING EXCESSIVE FEES, BEING HANDCUFFED, OR BEING SLAMMED AGAINST HIS POLICE CAR WITH NO REGARDS TO OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY.
THE SECOND DEMAND IS CALLING FOR CAMPUS POLICE TO BE DISARMED, AND ONLY RESPOND TO EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. THE EXTREME MILITARIZATION OF CAMPUS POLICE HAS MADE CAL STATE LA AN UNSAFE PLACE FOR STUDENTS OF COLOR, IN PARTICULAR BLACK STUDENTS. CAMPUS POLICE CARRY AT LEAST 3 DEADLY WEAPONS ON THEM AT A TIME. FOR MANY OF US THIS TRIGGERS THE VERY SAME TRAUMA WE FACE ON A DAILY BASIS AS BLACK PEOPLE IN AMERICA. THE FEAR OF POLICE, OR BEING KILLED BY THEM IS JUST AS PRESENT AT CAL STATE LA AS IT IS IN OUR COMMUNITIES. SEEING OFFICERS ON CAMPUS WITH THE AMOUNT OF DEADLY WEAPONS THEY HAVE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Police harassment like this must end now. This is (in part) why Cal State LA has a notorious reputation as an anti-Black campus. Defend Black students and community members, and hold abusive officers accountable!
Campus police have had a hostile approach to black students, them being armed presents a safety risk
He harassed my friend, pulled us over and searched us for no reason on campus! He harasses Black people, and tries to get a reaction out of them!
Cal state la is home for many of us and if we can’t feel safe by the people who suppose to protect us , something has to be done
Straight weirdo, he the reason I missed my finals at Cal state university Northridge because I was fighting a case he overcharged me with, while in the police car to the county jail he told “Just because we charged you with this does not mean The DA will charge you with this.” So that mean he knowingly overcharged me with counts he knew was not going to stick. He harassed me again put me in handcuffs when I was not on campus, followed and chased me down in his car because he thinks he’s Robocop.
Fire him
He has serious issues that need to be addressed. This guy needs mental help through therapy because his power issues seem to be deeply rooted and is hurting not only the people he targets but the image of the police force that is actually trying to serve and protect.

I am a CAL State LA alumni and I also used to work for the Public Safety Department, not sure who the new chief is, and this cop wasn’t there was I graduated in 2016. I never felt unsafe or ever heard of something happening like this on campus. The police were supposed to make us feel safe and only bothered students when they ran a light or didn’t stop at a stop sign. This officer is way out of line and taking a college campus police too aggressively. No student should feel unsafe at their own school.
