Say No to Big-Box Rezoning at Hillcrest & LBJ

We have plenty of nearby grocery stores nearby, and the zoning should not be changed. HEB does not belong in this location, and traffic, already congested, would be untenable.

Traffic is so aggressive already in this area, including exiting from 635 and is often unsafe. This area should not be reasoned and this HEB store shouldn’t be sited in this location. It is the wrong location and will greatly exacerbate already terrible traffic, including adding more cars to 635, causing more traffic and major congestion at 635 and Preston and Hillcrest.

I live close to this location

There is excessive traffic at this intersection already, which wasn’t designed to accommodate large retail. Area schools, churches and synagogues, and a retirement community use the pedestrian paths at this intersection, which nearly guarantees accidents. The property backs up on White Rock Creek, and we don’t need big box grocery store trash exponentially increasing pollution downstream.

Valley view mall area is the perfect place for a HEB

When did the City of Dallas stop caring about neighborhoods?

I am not in favor.

The infrastructure does not support this location.

HEB is not welcome. There is only one way out of my neighborhood. The traffic is already a nightmare and HEB would make it almost impossible to turn onto Hillcrest. We have many grocery stores available. People living south of Forest and North of LBJ will not be affected as much as those of us who live right off Hillcrest. I am concerned about crime and the loss of property value.

This general area at the intersection of 75 and 635 is already horrific. Please don’t make it worse. Send this project further east down 635z

This is a terrible idea! The roadways were never designed for the traffic we already experience every day! Children are moved around on charter buses. I would hate to see an accident involving one of these buses! I am not anti HEB there are many other properties available in the same general area that would suit a project like HEB has proposed. The time to object is now, once approved there will be no going back.

Horrible idea! it is presently a congested areas, this will only increase the traffic in the area.

Zoning request for heaviest retail plus 600+ car parking garage tell the story, i.e., overuse shoehorned onto inadequate site.

Hillcrest and LBJ frontage road is one of the last decent major intersections that traffic flows smoothly through. At a huge HEB store and the congestion to that major intersection and the surrounding neighborhood streets will be a constant traffic jam. Coming from the south, it is one of the best ways to avoid all the congestion of 635 and 75. Those poor neighborhoods will be more blocked in by the congeston on those streets. Surely there is another abandoned big box business that could be used as the the new HEB location.

There is no place that is big enough for an HEB on any of the corners

I do not want it because of the major traffic it will produce in our neighborhood.
