Say No to Big-Box Rezoning at Hillcrest & LBJ

I do not live in this area, but I am against big-box development, and destruction of buildings that are more than 50 years of age. They should be considered historical. Big box retail hurts neighborhoods, and food delivery to impoverished communities should be done so through the means of smaller stores so walk ability is assured. I am disappointing in Dallas's lack of care and concern for both their historic preservation and their residents' well being.

we don’t need another grocery store and more traffic in this already dumpster pot of toads and traffic and poor city planning coming together in this one “ hot spot” of dallas.

It is already difficult to get onto 635 going east from Hillcrest and I had previously requested to have a right turn only lane to decrease the back up. Now, if a massive grocery store comes at this junction, it would be impossible to make the commute.

This will create traffic havoc in an already congested-accident prone neighborhood.

the traffic gridlock right now at 635 near hillcrest is already difficult but HEB will bring a huge amount of traffic and countless semi trucks constantly delivering and driving down hillcrest and 635. This area was never designed or intended for this use or traffic.

NO! To HEB, we have 3 stores near us that serve our needs - Tom Thumb, Whole Foods, Central Market. We live right off Forest Lane and Hillcrest and have seen traffic back up each day between 4 pm and 6 pm as well as 7 am and 9 am making it nearly improssible to get on Forest Lane. Serveral DISD school buses drive around this area as well, making it more difficult for school bus drivers and children on those buses. Please consider DISD students before appeasing HEB!

The traffic and congestion will devalue 100 houses in Hillcrest Villas. There are 4 major grocery stores within a 2 mile radius— Cebtral Market, Tom Thumb Aldi, and Whole Foods. There is NO need for another in why do things so difficult? I can. I got the name. I got my email address. this neighborhood.

This will absolutely ruin our residential area’

I am very concerned about traffic through the neighborhood and the idea that reasoning would apply even if HEB declines to build. Are their smaller footprint stores perhaps? Can rezoning be cancelled if HEBe plans change? Do we have any data from the Walmart and ss club that was built at 635 and midway around negative (or positive) neighborhood impact I losing traffic, accidents and panhandling ?

This development is detrimental to our neighborhood. Please vote no!
