Regardless of growing concern and feedback by ratepayers, Redlands City Council voted unanimously to approve a development application. The concern is that as a result of this development over 20 very large and well established koala habitat trees will be removed.

Our precious Redlands Koalas environment is shrinking. This petition is to encourage and foster developments which co-exist with established flora and fauna and most importantly - our koalas.

We have reached the 500 signature threshold. I have drafted a formal letter to the planning department detailing our opposition to the removal of these trees and will be submitting it to the council office tomorrow.

80% gone and you still can't see the impact your decisions regarding development have? Please think of the future and not just immediate profits.

We need a koala protection act and to save and connect the trees remaining in SEQ. The rate of clearing is atrocious and it is appalling to see continued support of development that is unsustainable in our region!

We moved to Cleveland 35 years ago and we used to see and hear many Koalas in the area but now we rarely see any which is so upsetting they need urgent help by better laws to protect them from greedy developers and council and others.

I thought we had laws to protect koalas but apparently not from developers. It is wrong that residents have to obey all laws and pay full cost to council for development but the developers get subsidised by us and we don't want the development anyway.

Koalas cannot just be moved from one are to another, take the trees from an area and no home for the koala

This current council is committed to the extinction by stealth of the Redlands Koalas, take away the habitat and all local species die - No grounds to protect once the species are gone - Go in a completely wreck the Redlands We once had a beautiful place - now he bay is a mud hole - Williams and her LNP backers are a disgrace The ALP are also supporting the Walker corporation as well- Corruption and complete contempt for the community will - I don't want all this over development - Regional Queensland is crying out for infrastructure and investment all up the Coast , why does the Southeast have to become an n over populated sewer- The profit reapers don't even live here
