There are 50 billion plastic bottles bought each year; over 1500 per second. Those bottles take a minimum of 450 years to start to decompose in the environment.Even in its smallest form, plastic will never biodegrade.

17 million barrels of oil are used in producing bottled water each year, but bottled water costs more than tap water.Plastic leaches toxins into the water, which have been linked to health problems such as reproductive issues and cancer. The energy we waste using plastic bottles in a year would be enough to power 36,100,000,000 homes.

None of these numbers or facts may mean anything to you, but when your dead and gone in the ground; those bottles will still be here. If we continuethe way we humans are, our world isn't going to be here much longer.

Maybe you don't care about it. Hah you'll be dead. But what about the ones you left? Your daughter's/son's kids and their kids, and so on? They'll still be here when everybody hasto wear masks and step through piles of garbage and soot to get anywhere. There will no longer be beautiful green lush forests or flowers sprouting in spring. It will be a worldof grey dust and ash. Is this really what were leading our futures to?
