If a new structure is ultimately needed, it's crucial that it remain a part of the "cultural campus", the heart of the island. The library, along with the beaches, schools, parks, bike/walk-ability, theater, and fine arts center, is the draw for so many of our island residents!

Do not establish a temporary library off the island. Build the new permanent library next to the community center and on its parking lot. Use the old libary space for parking.

If the County closes this Library, recommend a temporary Library on the Island until a new one is built

The Venice library has been described as the heart of Venice. Vacationers come here to be able to use it. Closing it before having arranged an interim site will be painful and disappointing to many -- at the peak of the tourist season! Please reconsider and keep the library open until a temporary location can been arranged.

I have many memories of spending many afternoons at the library after school. My son spent time there reading and spent time with friends.

Too fast to reach conclusions. How do Venice, Italy, Amsterdam manage to withstand hundreds of years living on water? They don't tear down and build anew. This library may have been started 50 years ago, but the current building is much newer.when?

Please postpone the closing until a satisfactory building to lease is found. The 2017 county budget should include funding to build a new library in Venice.

Please keep the Venice Library open until an acceptable temporary venue can be found. Libraries are essential to our neighborhoods.

The old Gulf Gate library was in bad shape for years and it also had a moldy odor. It took years for the county to plan a new library and they kept the old one open in the meantime. Something about the quick Venice library closing does not makes sense.

I'm sickened by the thought of losing this library. Since retiring, It has become one of the center pieces of my day-to-day living. I live on Venice Island and enjoy my bike ride to and from the library. I can't imagine it closing.
