One of the reasons for buying on the island was for the ease in walking to various local attractions, with the library being near the top of the list. We have too many cars on the island and taking away our library will only add to the traffic of those that are able to drive off the island to another library.

Since this mold has been a known problem for many years on the cement slab, why wasn't the carpet replaced with a tile throughout long ago.
All of a sudden, you need to close & tear down the library! SMELLS STINKY TO ME!

We need our library on the Island. It provides services for the elderly who cannot easily access other locations.

We need a library on the island and we need it at the same spot it is on now since that is known as the Cultural Campus. Knock it down and build a new one on the same site. I feel that the city wants this area for a parking lot and they don't care about inconveniencing the residents but are only interested in the tourists. A building can be found to house a temporary library until a new one can be built on the original site. It also should not take three years! Find the money and get it going asap. Have fund raisers, float a bond, but don't move our library.

The Venice Library is a vital component of the cultural life of Venice. It is centrally located and therefore easy for many residents to reach by walking (disabled, handicapped, and people who don't have the funds for transportation), a wonderful asset for the city. Please consider relocating it right where it is.

i can't think of any other city in the USA that DOES NOT have a library in the downtown area? Can those that are going to make the decision of the new library location tell why we want to have the dubious distinction of being the first city in America NOT to have downtown library

Don't close the library. Have a plan first. We want a library on the island, so if you rebuild, do it on the island.

There has to be a better way to remove mold than demolishing a solid building.
