Libraries are important to everyone.weather young or senior.It introduces readers to a multitude of experience while never leaving their home town

this is a major part of child education. if you tear this down family and kids wont e able to go somewhere safe and learn!

Venice needs a good DOWNTOWN library. The mold issue was known years ago yet no planning was done and no money set aside?! Then a few days after the announcement was in the local paper of the library maybe having to close the county commissioners vote to close it. They gave citizens no time to organize or protest the closing. I volunteer at the Jacaranda Library but still use the Venice Library whenever I am downtown. The Community Center, museum, and art gallery, combined with the library makes for a vital downtown area. Especially with all the seniors that like or need to get everywhere by foot or bicycle. Fix the library don't remove it!

This is an establishment of great esteem to most. There are many memories, there should be many more.

I come done to the Venice area every year for the summer. and the Venice Library is visited at least twice a week.

I urge you to hold off on closingthe library until a suitable new location can be obtained.,

The Venice Library is my all time favorite library - after enjoying The Fairfax County Library outside of D.C. for many years, The Alexandria Library AND the Library of Congress as a teenager. Please keep it in good stead.

I can't comprehend how a public facility can close with virtually no notice or alternative in place. Something fishy going on here....

Please save our library.

Keep the library open. We need a library on "the island".

We have used this facility for decades.

The library is a central part of the cultural center on the island.. Please don't leave a big empty abandoned building in that area for any length of time.

Build in the NW corner of "culture center" across from historical society - use existing Space - after taking down bldg, For parking. STAY ON THE ISLAND!!!!

Please, please keep the library open until a new central location can be found in Venice. We are frequent users of the library and consider it an essential to the community. We have wi-fi in our condo but the library also serves those who cannot afford this vital link to jobs, family and services. Thank you for considering this petition.

Since the problem has been known for 5 yrs, why the panic reaction? Has the County been lying about the safety all these years?

Obviously fear of liability is overriding all other considerations. "Swim at own risk" signs are posted at Oscar Scherer State Park as well as signage at Equestrian events. Why can't the County do the same at least until better options are finalized?? Employees and Volunteers could make own choice as well.

If you can take as drastic an action as demolishing the library building, you can find a temporary replacement. You know that people of Venice use the library, don't you?

I tis irresponsible to simply close the library without having a satisfactory substitute somewhere on Venice Island
