Has anyone thought of asking a "dowser" to locate the source of the water creating the mold?

There really needs to be an alternate location until a new library is built.

Another boneheaded decision by some bureaucrats with no clue how this is going to impact people's quality of life. Probably some developer ready in the wings to come snatch the land. Watch- there'll be "mold" found in the community center next.

We LOVE the library!! We NEED the library!! Please look at ways to allow the library with some of the collection and the services to remain in the current building or in another building on the island! What an asset it has been to the city of Venice!

I use the library and want to keep going there. Get another opinion. Too many people use this library every year. Is this a way you will get your new parking garage for down town?

The library on the island is important to me. I check out books several times a month. As a senior citizen I prefer to have a library near me, which is the tradition of the city of Venice.

To shut this down without fixing is an absolute mistake. This location is part of the culture of Venice and there is NO reason for the city to spend all that they do in Sarasota and not save this library! Shame on you Sarasota county!

Is it feasible to place pilings on the current site, leave ground floor as an open space build two stories above and a larger foot print for the entire structure. Would allow faster decision as to the site and faster construction. I'm a novice but there should be options.

The Venice island library is a necessity to this community -not only the local residents -but also 4 schools will be affected who use the library for Their needs -the facility should remain in its location -if it needs to be rehabbed then it needs to be done -but to close it without a plan for rebuild is not right for the community it serves -and we have paid much money in tax dollars to keep this functioning and up and running -not to be shut down
