Please find an alternative to keep this open. There are empty buildings on the island that could be used

Please don't close the library until you have another solution. It is grossly unfair to be closing it because a couple of individuals with hypersensitivity to mold MIGHT POSSIBLY be affected.

I have been bringing my boys to the Venice library since they were babies. It is one of our favorite outings together. They are now in middle school. I still frequent the library regularly to get books for myself. This is one of the many things that makes the island so great! It would be a shame to take it away. A kiosk in the community center is just not the same.

That library holds so many memories, first for me when I was young and then for me as a young mother! Browsing the stacks and discovering new authors is awesome. It helps anchor our community! Fix it, replace it if you must, but do not leave us without!

My fondest childhood memories sweep me back to the children's section of the Venice Library, where I fell in love with reading and all of the summer projects they made for kids: binding books, creating journals, learning how to read aloud in front of audiences, making story books with illustrations, painting, filming and editing with VHS cameras, creating Egyptian masks, etc. Keep Venice Library alive!

Slow down and listen to the concerns of the library patrons. Maybe the mold can be managed in a less draconian fashion.

I visit Venice frequently to see my elderly mother. I was there today and use it every time I'm in town. It is ways filled with people--young and old. An integral piece to the fabric of this community.

Plans for continuing library services on Venice Island need to be in place before closing the current library.
