Too quick of a decision/notification.! Island needs a library, look at the numbers of users. Clearly this is a highly utilized library.!

The shutdown decision came too abruptly without any public input. I don't believe for a minute the mold threat is that dire. Perhaps a sign should be posted outside the building warning those who are sensitive to mold?
I would much rather see the city hall offices relocated off the island in order to make room for and preserve the community library.

Please keep Florida literate. All we have are strip mall strip clubs and drugs. Can we please keep books. Can we please give poor kids a fighting chance at doing their homework in a safe environment? It seems like my home town is so backward they rather build jails instead of keep libraries open.

I would like to know the reasoning of suggesting that "if" they do rebuild, it would most likely be built off the island. Why not build it on the same location? The land is already available. What are we not being told? This library is important to many people and should stay open until a suitable temporary space is found. A new one should be rebuilt on same location. If not, then an explanation of why.

I live on the island and want to see our library saved or rebuilt! It is important for our entire community! Young, old, and everyone in between deserve to be able to continue having this as a research to learn, gather, and read!!

Our Venice Island Library gives all of us islanders the opportunity to have a literate sanctuary within walking distance. It would be a hardship to have it closed. Please fix the existing library.
