This library was started with donated funds - if the county can't afford to repair it let's help them. I'm confident that library users and others who love our downtown can make up a large portion of the cost.

Too many people use this library All The Time, and to just close this building down is not feasible! It is so much more than just about the books here. :(

Closing this library, without having an immediate alternative for the residents of Venice would be a travesty. This library is such an important part of this area of the city of Vence.

Who closes a library without an alternative place to open? What town does NOT have a library?

I use this library often and it always has many patrons browsing the books, movies, magazines and reference books, listening to lectures and storytime. Not to mention those whose only chance to use a computer to search for jobs and connect with friends and family. The library is a vital resource for people on and near the Island. We need more than a kiosk.

We recently moved to Venice full time. Part of our decision for our home was based on the proximity to the library, art center, health care and downtown. What a disappointment to see the city and county close the library on short notice with no input from the citizens.. We need a full investigation into what is going on. I want to see the health department report.

No harm has come to anyone. We've gone 5-6 years this way. Find something equal and near the present location before closing this building.

I have been coming to Venice to visit grandparents, then parents for years. Now I live here. The library has always been one of Venice's best places to go, not just for books but for classes, lectures, help with landscape questions, and even concerts. It would be VERY sad if there were no library on the Island. Please make sure there is an alternate Venice Island site ready if the library must close!

One of the reasons we bought on the Island was that we could walk or bike to library, hospital, grocery stores and the each. Please keep the library here while rebuilding a new one.

There are several empty buildings that could house the library. One library in this city is not enough.

The vacant building where Albertson's was located would be perfect for a temporary location for the library.
