A public library has had more influence on my life than any other facility. I will be very disturbed to see the city library closed.

I agree this was decided too quickly, has not been given enough consideration. The present Library should not close until we know more.

Keep the book borrowing portion open till you can find temporary quarters. Post a warning sign for people with alergies or breathing conditions.

This needs to be preserved. We are to quick to demolish and erect condos,etc. Let's put some serious thought behind this.You did the same with the circus.

I love Venice Library and its staff. Please relocate to the community center if possible.

They should find a temp location within a 1/4 mile of the existing location. It should be staffed and ready to open before they close this library. The Venice library is part of the fabric of the people who live here and visit here. I choose Venice for retirement with the nearness of the library in mind. I find the manner in which this closing has been done as an overreach on the part of the county governance. There were no public meetings or alternatives offered. Finally a new library should be built in the same community property where it is now. Why not build it in the existing parking lot and convert the library building space to parking.

I live in Osprey for 6 months and use the library on a regular basis. Since this decision was made so quickly, I have to wonder about the reason behind it.

Venice on the island is only as good as its walkable ammenities and community and the library is that! Please rebuild on the island of Venice!
