The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation has decided to end the summer and year-round early childhood programs at five parks in Queens. These Playschools have been in operation for fifty years. The communities need these programs. They are affordable, keep our children safe and happy, and prepare them for school. The friendships we have made from these programs have lasted for years. Please help us keep the summer and year-round early childhood programs at city parks in Queens operating.

I have been reviewing the many stories you shared regarding your positive experiences with the Queens Playschool programs. These accounts provide a compelling argument for why these services must remain open to our families.

So upset about this news. My daughter learned so much there and met her best friends in the program. Please dont do this.

Keep them open. These parks are the heart of the neighborhood.

My kids grew up in these programs. 50 years of history and they just want to toss it away? Not right.
