There is discussion going on among the Urban Planning and Affairs faculty regarding the conversion of the student lounge into office space. We are strongly opposed to such action, as we feel the lounge is a great asset to the DUAP student population. In an urban institution of higher learning that already struggles to provide public space for students to study, read, write, collaborate and do research, the loss of the student lounge would greatly detract from the academic and social experience of DUAP students. We encourage all stakeholders (past and present) in the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning to join us by voicing your dissent to this conversion. Our position will be presented at a faculty discussion on Wednesday, May 6th. Thank you for your support.
