Boys and Girls High School is in jeopardy of being phased out and/or divided into several district or charter schools, while displacing our youth from the opportunity to attend a deep rooted community school. Boys & Girls has educated, nurtured and invested in generations of youth from the Central Brooklyn communities and beyond.

The project has reached a critical threshold that now demands a formal presentation to the district board. I am finalizing our proposal for the rehabilitation of the campus and will deliver it to the oversight committee later this week.

Been watching this happen to too many schools in the city. ENOUGH.
Principal Gassaway is trying to do the right thing and the district keeps blocking him. Let him do his job and save our school.
My grandfather went there. My dad went there. You cant just shut down history like it doesnt matter. Keep the doors open.
BGHS is the heart of Bed-Stuy. Stop trying to turn our schools into charter experiments. Leave the pride and joy alone!
Fix the school dont destroy it. Displacing kids is only gonna lead to more trouble elsewhere. Its common sense.
