Empire Theatres (Sobeys) plans to sell the drive in on the Truro Road as real estate. This leaves them or the new owners free to bulldoze what is left of a one of Pictou County's most historic landmarks. Built in 52' it has survived a fire that burned down the main screen in 1969 as well as many other hardships that could have surely closed it. This petition is to solidify the drive-in as a treasure of Pictou County and maintain its appearance and hopefully operation as a drive-in.
