Based upon the public announcement no 152/2008 made by the municipality of Kfarabida, in which the citizens of Kfarabida are asked to give any information, objections, and questions regarding the project that the Company of "Shores Development" on lots no /289-265-263-262-297/ in the residential area of Kfarabida, many letters were written to object against the part of the project that has to do with destroying the shoreline's natural topography and historical Phoenician heritage. The part of the project that has to do with putting in a marina will have an everlasting impact on the cleanliness and beauty and the uniqueness of the rocky shores of this mesmerizing and unique area of the eastern-mediterranean coast. Although we have many interests in seeing this area being developed in a way that would contribute to the local economy, we insist upon the preservation of its geographical and historical uniqueness. We have to mention that this area is being studied along with many other areas, to become a National Reserve. Our Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources visited the city of Batroun recently where he declared many marine reserves, without mentioning Kfarabida shoreline. Therefore we, as citizens of Kfarabida, would like your help in protecting this shore until it is decreed to become a National Reserve.
