We the undersigned are calling on the Legal Services Commission and Manchester City Council to restore the funding of the South Manchester Law Centre in order that it can continue to provide quality legal advice in all areas of its expertise. South Manchester Law Centre is currently under serious threat of closure. Manchester City Council and the Legal Services Commission have decided to cut all funding for the services it provides people with housing, welfare benefit and employment problems. In additional the Legal Services Commission has significantly reduced the amount of money it will pay the Law Centre to deliver special legal services in asylum, immigration and human rights. The Law Centre has been providing specialist legal services for nearly 35 years. The loss of the Law Centre would represent a serious threat to access to justice in Manchester. Protect your rights.
