Really sad to hear this. Not much in the area and after the community came together last summer to refurbish it this is very disappointing.

Please keep it open. Help the centre get the funding it needs. Centre is a valuable resource for everyone with a disability, mental health needs, those in poverty, older people, long term health needs and helps to alleviate lonliness and health problems due to its positive input into peoples lives.

The centre holds personal ties to a lot of people in Harpurhey and although I feel it should be more accessible for the kids like it was when I was younger I also believe closing it would be a great loss to the community.

Without The centre the following groups would, like thousands already in Manchester be homeless: Acorn?Ramp recovery, ACT, The Shaw Centre, Maxine Michelle's Dace Class, Diabetes Group, IT Drop in, Creative Co-op, Emerging Futures, Benefits Advice, Community Tuesdays, Chess Club...need I go on? Not to mention the all the staff redundancies!

Harpurhey is repeatedly featured highly on the Natiinal Indices of Deprivation. It is grossly inequitable to further remove access to critical services from vulnerable and under protected citizens. The Centre needs development not further funding cuts.

This is an excellent facility that needs provides for various communities. It needs supporting not closing down.
