SAVE OUR SCHOOLS- SAY ‘NO’ TO ACADEMIES! We, the undersigned, oppose the decision of governors in Coventry to convert our schools to academies: We are concerned that;  there has been no proper consultation with parents, staff and the wider community;  there is little evidence that academies benefit education of our young people;  this is a government policy that is designed to break up local authorities and create independent schools which will lead to greater privatisation of our education;  academies threaten children's entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum;  academies can threaten fair admissions procedures;  academies threaten teachers' job security and conditions of service;  academies will have a damaging effect on other local schools. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR CAMPAIGN BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!
