The NYC Dept. of Education is trying to close Law, Government and Community Service High School. Parents, students, staff and community members are opposed to the closing.
Our school has served its students and the community faithfully and well for almost two decades. The DOE's attempt to close our school is politically motivated and it comes on the heels of years of dwindling resources and support on the DOE's part.
Sign this petition to tell the DOE to take Law and Government off the closure list and give us the resources and support we need to continue our mission to serve students.
Please come out in person as well to support us at our public hearing on Wednesday, February 13th at 6:00 at the Campus Magnet Complex located at 207-01 116th Ave.
Reaching two hundred and fifty signatures serves as a powerful reminder that our school history is valued by many beyond our immediate classrooms. This collective recognition of our work confirms that the struggle to remain open is both necessary and shared.

Reaching one hundred signatures reminds me that many people value the history of our school as much as I do. It is heartening to see this level of commitment to protecting our community.

We are approaching two hundred and fifty signatures and this momentum reflects the depth of our commitment to keeping our school open. Reaching this milestone will provide us with the necessary standing to challenge the Department of Education at the upcoming public hearing. Please consider sending this link to someone who values the role our institution plays in this community.

Keep it open! This was my school and it gave so many kids a chance to graduate when other schools just pushed them out.

My daughter goes here and she has never been more motivated. Leave this school alone and stop punishing the kids.

This school changed my sons life. You cant just shut it down because of some budget numbers on a spreadsheet. Shame on the DOE.
