save kyogle heritage

We the undersigned believe Ritchies Supermarket Stores P/L (Kyogle IGA) should not demolish the locally significant example of early 1930\'s Art Deco architecture in Kyogle at 27 to 31 Summerland Way (the Lifeline, TURSA and Laundromat building.) It is vital that the Art Deco town of Kyogle maintains it\'s historic buildings. This is what makes our town unique, links us to our past and attracts tourism. HERITAGE CAN\'T BE REPLACED! THE EXISTING BUILDING COULD EASILY BE INCORPORATED INTO A WELL DESIGNED SUPERMARKET COMPLEX! Kyogle Council has been advised by the Heritage Council of NSW that the building is a place of local heritage significance. The township of Kyogle is indicatively listed with the National Trust as a nationally significant town precinct.
