Attention SAP and Johannesburg City Parks
This petition serves to confirm that all the signatories below request and ask for the removal of the illegal squatters in Okavongo Ridge, Wilropark.
The squatters are not only reside between the trees, but they also cut down trees, burn plastic and kill the local wildlife on a daily basis. After inspection of the area by a couple of residents in the area, it is confirmed that these squatters do perminantly reside between / under the trees and numerous dustbins that were stolen in the area can be found next to their squating camp.
With City Park boards all around the “Greenbelt” stating that no one is allowed to camp, reside, cut trees, harm wildlife or make fires, they blatently ignore these “laws” and that is why we created this petition to please ask help from the authorities.
It does not help to ask them to move, as they return after a few days. A proper clean up of all ruble and removal of their personal belongings will be the solution to remove these squaters permanently.
We as community need “the law” to please act on this request.

I Stay in Serissa next the veld it is a huge problem I had a break in and stuff disappeared from our yard
I have brought this issue to Saps and our sector manager at our CPF meetings repeatedly. Our Ward Councillor needs to be involved in removing them and constant monitoring to keep our greenbelts clear
We are one of the very first residence to build a live in Foxglove. I have been in the same house 46 years. It is so sad to see bottom of Foxglove going up towards Oakovango be taken over by those you think they have the right to do so.
Please will you urgently assist the community to remove the illegal squatters at Okavonga Ridge. As they set up a permanent camping site there. They burning plastic and other goods killing the wildlife there. Also stolen dustbins on that site. They are a danger to the community and animals squatting there. Please please help to remove them urgently Thanks in advance Annelie
We need to remove illegal occupants from parks and areas that's not set out for housing. These people create a risk for the community as well as a health risk as there is no sanitary facilities
No to illegal sqaurters.

The vagrants in the above area, move around a lott so the City would NOT have to find alternative accomodation in terms of the PIE act. They moved through the green belt camping illegally and destroying indigenous plants and setting illegal snares to catch wildlife including hares and hyrax and wild birds
