To keep the CCI department of Adam Smith College Glenrothes as it is. Adam Smith executives plan to move two courses from the Stenton campus in Glenrothes (which has all the necessary software along with art, film and sound studios) to the Nairn campus in Kirkcaldy which has none of the above equipment or studio space. Drawing is a fundamental basic of animation and is a must for anyone wishing to study or work in this field. without drawing experience, universities will not accept students onto their animation courses and so anyone wishing to continue with their studies after their time at Adam Smith College will have to study another year of art to move forward. The two courses planned to move are: NC Intro to games technology HND 3D Animation the move does not only effect the courses above, as staff required for these courses will also be moving campus, even though they are required to teach many other CCI courses at the Stenton campus i.e television and radio courses. We can not see how a college that is making cuts in other courses to save money, can justify moving a course which requires such expensive equipment. Equipment that can not be moved from the Stenton campus as other courses continuing at that campus will still require it.
