Several government agencies are presently considering a project that would result in closing and partially filling in F-Cove, in Brick Township, north of the Mantoloking Bridge, which is the second most popular public access site on Barnegat Bay after Tices Shoals. Among the government’s motives in considering various “restoration” projects at F-Cove are to use the deep lagoons as a dredge spoil site (which from their perspective is a “beneficial use of dredged material”), to restore wildlife habitat, and to tighten up on management of the Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. This restoration is highly likely to require closing of F-Cove to its present forms of access. We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge all public officials to work out a cooperative arrangement between U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Township of Brick to keep F-Cove open to boaters as at present. I just refreshed the page and saw we actually hit one hundred signatures which feels honestly kind of wild because I was worried nobody would care about the cove as much as I do. It is just so nice to see I am not the only one obsessed with those lagoons because I was starting to think I was just yelling into the void about the dredges.

We already lost enough public access around here. Stop closing everything off to us.

Seriously? Just another way to make it harder for locals to enjoy the water. STOP THIS NOW.

Ridiculous idea. F-Cove is the best spot on the bay. Leave it alone!
