Updates

June 7, 2007

I have been walking down the block every single day and hearing stories from folks who feel like they are just waiting for a knock on the door that ends their lease. It is quiet behind the scenes because I am currently digging through zoning files and trying to parse through this dense paperwork while keeping the shop owners calm despite all the uncertainty hanging over this street.

I was looking at the screen and just couldn't believe the momentum we have suddenly picked up because honestly I thought this would just be a quiet neighborhood thing. It really feels like people are waking up to what is happening here and honestly that gives me so much hope even when I feel exhausted from all the planning meetings.

my family has lived in this neighborhood for 3 generations. Brooklyn is losing its soul and these greedy developers dont care about anyone except their bottom line.
