On October 21, 2010, a resolution was passed by the Commissioners of Eastern Shores School Board, New Carlisle, Quebec to evaluate the closure of Bonaventure Polyvalent School to return the students that presently attend or would attend BPS to smaller "feeder" schools.  The final decision on this item will be made at the regular meeting of the Council of Commissioners on February 16, 2011.  This petition is to be presented to the Commissioners of Eastern Shores School Board and the Adminstration of the Eastern Shores School Board - We the undersigned categorically object to the closure of Bonaventure Polyvalent School. We feel that the Board and it's Commissioners have breached its duty of procedural fairness, and have failed to properly assess and evaluate the closure of Bonaventure Polyvalent School and the impact it will have on the Anglophone and Mi’gmaq Community of the Baie des Chaleurs. We ask that the Board review the viability of the school and it's programs as well as provide the school communities and communities at large with adequate information regarding the impact that the closure of BPS will have on the individuals directly and indirectly affected by a proposed closure.
