The state has reinstated funding for Adult Day Health Care, securing these essential services for our elderly and disabled neighbors. Your commitment forced an important reversal that will protect thousands of lives and livelihoods across California. We shall remain observant to ensure these programs continue to operate with the stability …
We the undersigned oppose the elimination of Medi-Cal funding for Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) as part of the effort to balance the 2011-2012 state budget. ADHCs offer a cost-effective, vital and caring service for elderly and disabled adults in our community. According to the legislative analyst, “savings from the elimination of the ADHC benefit would be offset by additional costs in Medi-Cal and other state programs.” In addition to costing the state more over the long term, eliminating funding for ADHCs would cost 7,600 people their jobs and would result in millions of dollars of lost income for the state.
Our petition is approaching one hundred signatures which marks a vital milestone for this campaign. Please direct your contacts to this page so that we arrive at this figure before we present our findings to state officials.

Stop balancing the budget on the backs of the disabled. Find the money somewhere else.

This is so short sighted. They end up in the ER or the nursing home if they dont have day care. It is literally just gonna cost more money in the long run.

Ridiculous proposal. These people need this care to stay out of hospitals. Keep the funding or expect a mess in the emergency rooms.

It keeps my uncle active and happy. He has friends there. He would just sit inside all day if this closed.
