I’m looking to move into the JP neighborhood. A refurbished home that preserves the charming original finish is far more attractive than boxy new condos.

there is bad residential development and there is good residential development. keeping this house would actually be an asset to this development project. there is enough land that the house (which is very large and stately) could be refurbished into units and new units built as well. there are two current projects in jp that are doing that to great effect. 32 rockview st and 106 forest hills st. people love living in "new" historic structures (victorian houses - old mill buildings). it makes the development more appealing to buyers/owners AND to the neighborhood. with vision you do not need to tear everything down for the sake of profit/ease in the short run. in the long run you create more appealing (profitable) housing and you create goodwill in the communities you work in which goes a long way. (ps - i would rather the house be refurbished and the land remain open - but i'd take a new addition to make the project cost effective for the developer than a tear down)

Enough taking a beautiful structure and razing it for developers to raise the unaffordable rents and forcing your medium or low income people out of town!

Let us begin MEANINGFUL community input to the development process with developers that provide true transparency of plans, financial backers and BPDA interaction. We also need mayoral leadership that will respect the interests of neighborhoods and stop the insanity of wack-a-mole development that has plague Boston over the past 8 years.

We need to preserve our historic homes. Too many are being demolished.

343 S. Huntington Ave., #5. I don't want to see this beautiful piece of property exploited for profit by folks who do not live here. The city has a chance here to protect residents who have lived here for ages. The issue of parking is also heavily on our minds. It doesn't sound like the developer has planned for adequate off street parking (with 1-2 cars per unit for what could be up to 9(?) units, plus a curb cutout that will take away existing street parking spots. Don't quote me on that unit number- that is not confirmed.

This is an exquisitely beautiful older home. Please do not tear it down!! History like this can’t be brought back once destroyed.
This was my home for almost 30 years. The house has so much potential and history.
