Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is proposing to close 3 fire stations within the county and we need your help to save them from closure. Manea, Sutton and Kimbolton are all under threat of closure and recruitment has been stopped to prevent the strengthening of the crews. With your support, together, we will do all that we can to prevent the closures, save jobs and keep the fire stations open to serve our local communities. The silence from the leadership regarding the future of Manea, Sutton, and Kimbolton remains concerning as the reality of these potential closures settles in. I have been spending my time documenting the specific risks each town faces if these emergency services are pulled away. Your stories about what these stations mean to our neighbors provide the evidence we require to challenge this proposal effectively.

We have had the fire brigade out to us from Manea. This is a valuable service. Can't imagine the horror for people who need a fire crew . We were 2 minutes away from losing our home from fire. We were very lucky. What is this country coming to?
The loss of the Kimbolton Fire Station will have serious implications for all of Huntingdonshire west of the A1 as the nearest other fire stations are east of the A1. This is totally unacceptable for the safety of the communities in West Hunts.
With the village of Sutton expanding considerably with new housing developments and the weight of traffic on the A142 making the transit from Ely to Sutton a slow lengthy journey what chance have we of getting an appliance in time to save lives?
Our local Kimbolton station is essential for the safety and service of the local area. A few minutes can mean the difference between life or death and that should be the main consideration of a public service, not saving a few pounds here or there.
This station is an integral part of the Kimbolton community with a proud history of which I served for 3yrs. If this station closes it would put lives at risk and potentially all the historic buildings at risk as the nearest stations would be St.Neots or Huntingdon

These are essential for rural communities which can be a long distance from the main station. Houses in these villages often have thatched roofs and wood burners/open fires. If there happens to be a chimney fire a speedy response is vital.
