So you and your party are doing your best to close down the W.I B. C. and deprive the older deneration like myself in taking part in a sport we dearly like and at the same time are able to get out and meet. Not only bowling its a social life for us.

It is important to maintain recreation facilities for older folk. The Council need to re:think their strategy!

What other facilities are provided for so called "old" people ? The club is open to all age groups - so come on you youngsters and join our wonderful, friendly club. The Council are very happy to take our money - how about giving something back, Shame on you !!

I give my whole hearted approval to keeping this club open. It is a lifeline for some members, keeps people active and healthy, encourages community spirit. It would be disastrous if it closed. There is no other club that can take all our of members. Keep it open!

The older generation needs activities to socialize and exercise, and by doing so it helps to promote their mental health. By comparing the size of the bowling green with the rest cricket and football pitches, I'm sure you'll find that the space taken up by the bowling green is minimal! Work it out and see for yourselves - eg Woodside, North Watford, bowling green less than 1%??

This a unique sporting facility used by people of all ages. Why does Watford Borough Council want to destroy it but I think we all know the answer to that. This club is a lifeline to many people especially those that live on their own. They can come and play bowls and then have lunch with other bowlers. This sport not only keeps your body fit and healthy but there is documented evidence that it also helps to keep your mind alert. It is important to have adequate sporting facilities for the young but equally for the older generation.

A necessary facility for many people, not just the elderly, in the area.

This bowls club is a life saver for all. It entertains other like minded people from all over the south of England. If this club closes many will give up the sport. And it will be a very sad day indeed for the elderly and lonely. Please keep it open.

activities such as bowls are a great asset to keep the elderly active and in good health.

The club supports everybody's idea of keeping the over 55's active, with no cost what so ever to the council tax payer. No doubt there is a financial motivation behind the redevelopment.

It’s vital to keep this bowls club open. It’s is an excellent way for any age, but particularly the older population to get excercise and social interaction. Sport is not just for the young!
