This would be a sad loss for the community. As well as being a thriving club, a lot of the members are of the older generation, and bowling gives them exercise, gets them out of their houses to meet people socially. It is a much needed facility, both mentally and physically.

Watford Council should be ashamed of themselves, WIBC does not cost them anything, but does provide both young and old with support and friendliness from all its members. The club should be applauded for the pleasure it gives to many who otherwise would just fade away........

Being a senior member of the community and having played bowls for 25+ years, I see this facility and the friends I meet there as an important part of my life. This is one of the few remaining indoor bowls clubs servicing this part of Hertfordshire

This has been a lifeline for many in the area and is much needed. What more can be taken away!

Watford indoor bowls is a place where lots of retired lonely single people, Men and Ladies, have the chance to mix with others as well as get much needed exercise while bowling. This is very often the only contact with others that these people have in such a friendly environment.

A very good place to meet up and help keep fit. Why is there such a down on these community assets?

This is a vital amenity for the local community. A great meeting place especially in the winter months for the slightly older generation.

The Government appears to be encouraging all people - particularly the elderly to keep fit. How can we do so if local councils seem to be hell-bent on closing down much needed facilities?

The vast majority of people using this facility have paid high rates of taxation through there working lives and just when they ask for help from The State, it is taken away from them or they are made to feel a burden, this is so wrong on so many levels

Bowls enables all age groups to continue exercising and keeping fit into very old age. A social place for everyone
