I have spent my week talking to the nurses who are being forced to leave their posts and the stories they share about the patients they care for are heartbreaking. It is clear that the hospital board is prioritising administrative convenience over the lives of the people who rely on this unit for survival.

My own mother relied on these nurses during her darkest days and I cannot stand by while this ward vanishes. Help me reach two hundred and fifty signatures today so those in charge realize they cannot just discard our local care.

Please keep this ward open. We need this support in Calderdale and shouldn't be expected to travel all the way to Leeds when we are already struggling.
Ridiculous decision!! Refurbish lifts but not keep a cancer ward open?? Priorities are all wrong in this hospital.
the nurses on 8d helped my wife through her whole treatment. they honestly go above and beyond. moving them to other wards is a waste of their talent.
My mum was treated on 8D and the staff are just amazing. They really care. Closing this place is a massive mistake and so unfair to local families.
Absolutely gutted to hear this. This ward is a lifeline for so many. Hope they listen to us for once.

Hopefully my signature and support helps you make a difference because the nurses should stay and support people in their fight against breast cancer. Although, it would be wise to add why they believe it is not cost effective to leave that Ward open since it is a possibility that they are saving money for research funding or other important issues. Nevertheless, I truly do hope the Ward stays open and continues to help people through this difficult time in their lives.
