Personal opinion after reading the story.....the neighbor needs to be removed. Walter is like any other dog breeds if agitated he will growl. Please don't let this poor man and his pup suffer over someone else's ignorance.

As a pit bull owner I know that every dogs barks. That doesn't mean you label them as vicious. My pit bull is a trained dog and is a family dog even if he looks too big for kids. He loves everyone, but is known to bark at someone unknown. That doesn't mean he vicious its mean he's protective. He has never bitten someone,As Walter hasn't bitten anyone. Barking is in the nature of a dog, as breathing,growling,and begging. We can let a dog stop doing what he's made for, as no one can stop us from talking. So I have only four words to say!! I am with Walter!!

This is all over Facebook on animal welfare pages...I found it first on Elle The PIt Bull's page. She is a registered therapy dog who won the American Humane Association's Hero Dog Award. She has 214,000 followers who do not condone discrimination against bully breeds or dogs who help in therapy or service capacities. Please do not deem this dog as dangerous!

This dog is one of service. Yes, if provoked almost all dogs will bark or move to protect. This is NOT a dangerous dog. YOUR community is going about this situation ALL wrong. We are all watching...

To remove a service dog from a family without just cause (and I've seen none) is cruel. Both dog and family are suffering. Please do the right thing and help Walter go home to his family where he belongs.

i ask that you allow Walter to remain with his family and get rid of the neighbor who agitated this situation!
I think the next step will be to have your town get some national news coverage - and I do hope that it will be in the affirmtive - by your town and govt. waking up to the reality that Walter and his family are supported by thousands - all across the world!

I'm with Walter. I have my own dog is in training to be my service dog. Walter has the right to continue to serve his owner as a service dog.

It's clear this should be treated on a case by car basis. Don't destroy a disabled man's life due to the breed of his now registered service dog. Clearly this is a case of a neighbor with an ax to grind who should be very ashamed of what they did. Your support of this person should make you ashamed and deemed unable to make logical and rational decisions despite overwhelming evidence that this dog is not dangerous. I'm very sad this town has you for a mayor who clearly doesn't care about the people of his own town, especially the ones who need your help the most! Disgusting.

Please Mayor Butler, have mercy on Walter the service dog. There are 2 sides to every story and this dog deserves a chance to be redeemed. Please don't allow this special dog to be registered as a danger. There are circumstances that were involved. Thanks you for taking a second unbiased look on Walrer's behalf.
