Childhood memories of the WACO..many Ohana members employed, whistle blowing, cane burning meant "black snow", train #7 in the park, big turns haulers and seeing smoke from the stack,
Waipahu has their smokestack landmark and so should Waialua!!!
It was a big mistake that the the towering pineapple in Iwalei was taken down representing the Dole Cannery.

I was born, raised, and lived in Waialua. My family immigrated from Portugal and worked for the sugar plantation from almost it's beginning to when it closed. Please preserve our heritage.
