I've skated at Venus a few times and the people there are harmless, there are all very nice and welcoming! What's the point taking there skate park away? It's there passion to skate so let them skate!

This is an amazing area of Victoria that I have grown to love, made even better because a legend put his own money up to create something incredible to skate. Support it and support people selflessly giving to their community.

It's clear that this dude done this before and knows what he's doing! Why pull it down, it's obviously been done to give the youth of the area somewhere better to hang out rather than them out doing drugs etc.

Absolutely ridiculous. Matt used his own time money and love to give back to the community and this is the thanks he gets. All great that whoever complained waited until he was almost finished to raise their concerns. What is dangerous about this? Well built and probably safer than the old section of skatepark as its not slippery by being covered in layers of paint. I am amazed at how stupid this idea is. Let it stand and let the community benifit from his hard work. Matt you should be proud of what you have accomplished and I hope the powers that be really think hard and overturn their decision. You should be thanked by them for your initative not punished.

I grew up in Venus Bay and skated this skatepark since I was 14 years old. I use to make grind bars and boxes to skate so it's no surprise they want to pull it down. The place has been neglected and it's good to see someone has done something good.

Surely Council can work with the community to make it meet all requirements rather than destroy something the community have done for themselves rather than rely on Council. Community doing it for themselves should be supported not destroyed.
