Save Tucker Park

I thought this was already decided. Tucker is rolling over in his grave!!!

I have many fond childhood memories of Tucker Park beach. This property was intended as a recreational area... Not for Sale!

This jewel in our community should remain as Tucker Park for the citizens of Saint John and not be available to any developer for any price! This park and its beautiful surroundings can never be replaced! It was intended for the enjoyment of the community....and should remain for that purpose...

Why is it that this city don't care about the people who live here or historical areas or properties stop giving away public areas or tearing down historical buildings once it's gone you cannot get it back

You should make things wheelchair accessible and more modern with deck and water events. When you drive by the entrance you might think nothing was there. Step up infrastructure for the people that live in Saint John River Valley and surrounding areas. There is barely any development along the beautiful river we live by. Keep it for the people. Cheers

Let's keep our parkland for the people. Once privatized with housing on it, it is gone forever.

Tucker is for public!

Save our green areas from development. More green not less at a time when deforestation of our province is occurring at an alarming rate. Life first, corporate profits last!

No to selling Tucker Park!

It's hard to believe that selling is an option. Public access to parklands and waterways must be maintained.

There is bus service out that way, but no bus stop at the driveway to Tucker Park. Try to encourage people to use the park, but, also try making it more accessible for transit users.

I am opposed to selling off public access waterfront land to private developers, especially to pay off likely reoccurring city expenses.

Having grown up down the road from Tucker Park, it holds a special place in my heart. It's the only public park and beach access in the area and should be enhanced as such. The land was given in trust to the province with the intention of it being a public park, not to be sold off when the city ran into financial troubles. You have larger, concrete cities, now doing what they can to restore urban areas into green spaces, having realized their errors. Let's realize and appreciate what we have now, before it's gone and we're faced with the challenge of trying to get back what we sold off and developed.

Grew up here. Great memories. Leave it for other families to make theirs.

There are many reasons why this land should not be sold, such as the fact that there is a pethora of waterfront land in Saint John still available for development. However, the most important reason why Tucker Park should not be sold is the fact that it was a donation to be used only for one purpose, and should only be used for that purpose. If the city does not value its gifts, then people will not be willing to make these in the future.

Please do not sell the park

Tucker Park is the only public beach access on the Kennebecassis river in the city. the park should be enhanced, not abandoned and sold if the city wants families to choose Saint John over Rothesay or Quispamsis. change rooms, playgrounds, etc. would bring much more positive spinoffs to the community, as it encourages families to stay here. I use this park frequently with my children, and would be angry to see it sold off when the city already has lots of waterfront lots for sale. How short sighted! Cities around the country struggle to buy back waterfront lots for parkland, Saint John must be the only city in the country trying to actively divest itself of waterfront parkland!

Save the park!

Tucker Park is well utilized by folks here in Saint John and it is a place to bring visiting family and friends. Saint John City Council ... please consider what privatization of public land means to the common person in this City. Less freedom to explore nature and keep it natural.
