Tucker Park is for ALL Saint Johners, not just the few who can afford waterfront property.

Please listen to the voices that elected you and do not sell off this land that was so generously gifted to the citizens of Saint John. Selling would be a short-sighted solution that would rob current and future generations of this invaluable and treasured green space.

It is my sincere hope that you reconsider your position regarding the selling of the Tucker Lake Green space donated to the City of Saint John for the leisure and recreational enjoyment of its people. Cultural parks, green spaces, walking trails... are an essential part of attracting people to the City. It is true that the City is in need of strong leadership to see its way through these difficult financial deficits however this easy grab shows a lack of vision for the City and I commend the committee of concerned citizens for their leadership and determination to be a voice for preserving and maintaining this beautiful green space for future generations.

Please leave our parks alone. There are many areas in our city that could be revitalized to promote growth.

In losing beautiful, natural spaces, we get closer to losing our appreciation of nature and the value of such in our lives and the lives of our children and childrens' children...

Short-term thinking will result in such an enormous loss of a treasured local asset. And current politicians will have moved on by the time these repercussions are felt.

As a resident and business owner in Saint John I feel Tucker Park is a valuable asset to our city. It is important to protect public access to our beaches and waterways in our city and province as more and more land is being sold off to private owners. I've enjoyed Tucker Park personally, and also realize the value of this park being within easy access of North End Saint John residents who might otherwise not be able to commute to other beaches.

I spent time at Tucker park as a child and I enjoy spending time there with my children. It is the one public beach where we can enjoy the river.

This is the most amazing spot, lot of my friends from England came here every day to swim when they were visiting. It was a real high light of their stay. I love it there and visit often.

Having visited here it is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled places I've ever seen. It should be left as it is and protected from any development now or in the future.

Please don't sell our green spaces - a one-time paycheck sells out future generations.
