Dear Legislator:

Individuals advocating for the elimination of Township Government, simply do not understand the important services townships provide to families - especially in these economic times.

Townships are the unit of government closest to people and they provide critically important front-line services to those in need, more effectively and efficiently than county or state government.

Hundreds of families, seniors and others who find themselves unemployed, under-employed or living on Social Security and meager pensions and savings, rely on township government programs like food pantries, help with utility bills, transportation, medical services, prescription drug discount programs and more. 

With state, county and municipal governments all cutting back on programs, It is unrealistic to assume that the critical services currently provided by townships, would be taken on by one of those other entities. We both know, that would not happen.

I fully support township government and urge you to oppose any legislation or policy aimed at eliminating it or any of its services.
