I suspect the supposed £60k cost includes allocated overheads. I wonder what will actually be saved - about £10k I calculate

Save up to £60,000??? But at what cost to the people who find this facility invaluable, and everyone agrees that this will only lead to more fly tipping in the area (which is bad enough already).

I support this petition. The Haslemere Saturday Household waste dustcart is an essential service and for sure the final costs of closing it will greatly exceed any potential "savings" if it is not continued.

I support this petition, Haslemere needs a waste disposal facility where people can take their rubbish. I remember when there were no facilities in Haslemere and there were a number of fly tipping dumps in the Haslemere area which were an eyesore and health hazard, we don't want to go back to that do we?

The removal of this service would be a serious loss to the town. It is extremely well supported each Saturday and the alternative of driving to Witley involves, at least a 15 mile round trip !! It would, also be the cause of more fly tipping in the locality.
