Dear Fellow Bruins,
Due to recent budget cuts and the university's need to consolidate departments in order to save money, there is a proposal to combine the LGBT Minor with Gender Studies.
This merger of the two fields would result in a smaller capacity for enrollment in the LGBT Minor and could lead to less LGBT studies specific classes being offered. Currently this proposal is before the Academic Senate awaiting review. ****Correction! An official proposal is not before the Academic Senate, but has been presented as a potential viable option. Reaching this level of visibility feels exhausting but the momentum is undeniable. We are still fighting a long battle against these proposed cuts and I am grateful to have you with me.

Don't merge it. Keep it as its own department. We need more visibility not less!!!!
Ridiculous cuts. Stop taking things away from students that actually matter.
This program helped me so much when I was struggling my freshman year. Please dont let this happen.
UCLA better rethink this. The LGBT minor is such a huge part of what makes this campus diverse and actually open minded.
This minor was the highlight of my undergrad experience. Cutting it just to save a few bucks is such a slap in the face to so many students.
